Time Control In Chinese Into Arabic Consecutive Interpretation

Interpreting is effort to render a source language into a target language.The target language is often longer than the source language,especially in Chinese-to-Arabic consecutive interpretation.After analyzing the case of the Consecutive Interpreting of the Courses of the Seminar on Legislation and Supervision Framework for Jordan Railway Transport,the author,as an interpreting trainee,has realized that it often takes her too long to do Chiese to Arabic interpretation,which has adverse influence on the interpretation outcome.After analyzing the record of the source language and the target language and based on the relevant standard of interpreting time,the author finds out that the main reasons for long interpreting time are dealing of hard-to-translate words and complex sentences and notes recognition and analysis.At the end of this paper,several solutions are proposed to control the interpretation time,including good preparation before interpreting,ability of deverbalization and simplifying complex sentences,rational planning of notes and the formation of a strong mindset,so as to reduce the interpreting time.
