Reasons And Solutions Of Using Too Much Time During Chinese-Russian Consecutive Interpreting

For those interpreters whose mother language is Chinese,when they do consecutive interpretation from Chinese to Russian,they have no trouble to understand Chinese,but have difficulties in expressing the meaning of the source language in Russian.The author,as a student learning interpretation,finds out that taking too much time to interpret Chinese into Russian is a serious problem for her.Therefore,the author tries to analyze the reasons of this problem based on her own experience.According to the case study,the reasons can be concluded as follow: pause,repeat,self-correction and the complexity of the target language.And four strategies are put forward to control the time during Chinese-Russian interpretation: simplifying target language,transforming expression,self-monitoring and preprocessing the source language.
