A Report On English-chinese Translation Of Business Contracts And Its Quality Control

With the further development of economic globalization,International trade and multinational corporations have stepped into our view,while business contracts and it's translation have become a kind of bridge to promote international commerce.This translation material was given by “A” Electrical Engineering Company(Because of the trade secrets,the name of this company will be replaced by “A”)during the internship.It will mainly be used to achieve the agreement in right,obligation and law with entrusting party,when the company opens branch office in America.The text involves some terminologies and knowledge in the field of electrical engineering,as well as a lot of business and legal terms.So the main content of this translation practice is that translating relative terms and studying the translation skills about business contract.During the translation process,all the translating will be based on three principles of skopos theory(skopos rule,coherence rule,fidelity rule).Meanwhile,the literal translating method is widely used in this project to deal with the translation of sentences and paragraphs.Then writer tries to use a relatively new theory to guide the review process: Si Xianzhu's Translation Quality Assessment Model,which is conducive to controlling the quality of translation.Through this project,writer intends to get further study on translation skills of business English,especially the business contracts.This project benefits writer a lot,during these days,writer has learned how to get familiar with translation tools and make glossary.Because of these,translation efficiency has been greatly improved,also translation procedure and management have been known by writer.All of these provide some guidance and reference for writer's further study and translating.
