With the development of globalization,the connections between countries have become closer than ever before.In order to follow the development trend of globalization of world economy,many readers from different countries attain information about the economic situation and financial industry by reading newspapers like Financial Times,Wall Street Journal and Economist.Yet because readers from different countries are at different English levels,translators are required to translate these journals to meet the needs of the readers of the target language countries.It is obvious that the quality of translation plays an important role in the communication of news.The purpose of this paper is to study the translation rules of financial English news.In the paper,several pieces of financial news have been selected from the Economist to analyze the translation strategy.The writer,with the guidance of Nida's Functional Equivalence theory and personal experience,first introduces the basic view and requirement of Nida's Functional Equivalence theory and translators must consider reader oriented and information accuracy in the translation of financial news;second,the writer analyzes the language features of financial news;finally the writer discusses the equivalence of titles and explorers how to realize equivalence on lexical,syntactic and discourse level.In the paper,the writer uses examples to verify the feasibility of functional equivalence to guide translation of financial news.Through the paper,the writer hopes to have a further understanding of translation of financial news and provide reference for other translators and attract more Chinese readers.
