Language education is the key treatment for the children with autism.Because the most crucial diagnostic features of autism are impairments in language proficiency and interpersonal communication due to their difficulties in cognition and flexibility.Nowadays the number of autistic patient is rapidly growing in the world.This research is an empirical study to search how second language acquisition can bring any benefit to a mikl autistic child's mother language practice on the basis of the approved Language Acquisition Device Theory and the Critical Period Theory.Two research questions came to the researcher:1.Can the freshness of second language acquisition bring autistic preschoolers the passion to learn their mother tongue in mainland China?2.Can second language acquisition afect the practice of their mother tongue?If so,how does the influence manifest?In order to answer these two questions,the author chose three mild autistic children as the subjects.During the English and Chinese class sessions,50 hours is total,with the main subject this researcher observed the subject's second language acquisition's influence on her mother tongue practice.By pre-planned teaching curriculum,all the things the main subject had learned were categorized into three groups to see the influence of second language acquisition on her mother tongue practice,and to see the subject's change under two different situations it was compared classes by both languages and by only Chinese.And among two supplementary objects one of them had not English classes,so the main subject and his mother tongue inprovement were compared to see if there is second language acquisition influence.The researcher's class observation,the evaluation of the mothers of the study subjects based on their observation of their children's improvement and this researcher's oral test by interviewing were adopted as methods,and the results were analyzed.Results indicate that:1.Second language acquisition can help autistic preschoolers concentrate much longer in class,stimulate their participation in class and cognitive activities by supplying freshness.2.Due to all the activties and cognitive exercises causing mild autistic preschoolers much practice in pronunciation,response skills,and cognition,it contributes to the solid acquisition and utilization of autistic child's mother tongue.3.On the extension of the second result's efect it can also positively afect the subject's interpersonal ability.This research has academic,social,and educational significance.In China,it is hard to find any studies of mild autistic children's English education.Although there is a study not recommending English education to the autistic chidren,but on the contrary,this research offers the room to consider that English education may be possible for the mild autistic preschoolers.
