In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,"writing" is considered to be the weakness of Chinese learners among the four basic language skills.Especially in the middle and advanced stages, many students' writing skill lags far behind the skills of listening, speaking, and reading. If the learner's writing skills are insufficient,it will certainly restrict the long-term development of language skills such as listening, speaking and reading. Therefore,in the Chinese-Writing Teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, how to help students solve the problem of writing is particularly important.Combining with practical teaching experience, the author finds that suitable and effective composition evaluation is an important way to improve the level of learners' Chinese writing. The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of composition assessment in the Chinese-Writing Teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, through the usage of a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods.Among them, quantitative research is mainly based on questionnaires, and qualitative research is mainly based on interviews. It is hoped that through this investigation,we can find out where the problems are,and figure out effective ways for teachers to evaluate the composition, and apply them to Chinese-Writing Teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language so as to optimize teaching.Through statistics and analysis of the results of the survey, this thesis draws the following conclusions:(1)Both teachers and students agree with the necessity of composition evaluation, but the ability of students themselves to modify their composition still needs to be improved.(2)Although teachers and students have different attitudes toward the current evaluation of composition, their attitudes are basically the same.(3)The teacher's actual written assessment method basically corresponds to the student's needs, but there are differences in the teacher-students'opinions with regard to the way in which the assessment is carried out in the class.(4)Teachers and students have the same view on the content of the assessment, that is to say, they all focus on language.
