The Application Of Traditional Chinese Cultural Elements In The ACG Industry

The ACG is an abbreviation of “Anime,Comic and Games”,which is widely used in subcultures of the Greater China Region.Since the ACG industry has a promising prospect in global markets,the Chinese Government has offered great support to the local industry in many ways including politics,education,technology and investments.We have been emphasizing how we can apply elements of Chinese traditional culture to create works that contain both connotations of Chinese traditional culture and also the sense of identity from audience of the time.This is the subject worth a further research.The study selects domestic and international cases of ACG works to discuss the subject.The study explains Character Design,Scene Design,Item Design,Cultural Connotations,and debates influences of stories' backgrounds and world views towards all kinds of designs mentioned above.Moreover,the study analyzes Artistic Design through an original work called “Oriental Tarot”.Finally,The study also explicates how we can flexibly utilize elements of traditional culture as a prerequisite,and shorten cognitive distance of audience through the ACG works without departing from their tastes,so that we will be able to efficiently promote development of the ACG industry in China.
