This paper takes the painting works of surrealism painter Rennes Maglitte as the main object of study, analyzes the presentation of metaphorical images in his works, and how he uses metaphorical images to convey the deep meaning of works. He used painting as a way to express philosophical thinking, and the poetic and philosophic philosophy in painting is often the result of his exploration of complex system, which shows the spiritual world of the artist's subconscious and the understanding of the essence of art to the viewer.Magritte never treats the object of painting in isolation,he often treats it as a problem, thinks that there is a connection between things, and that some of the potential relationships that cannot be obtained from ordinary experience need to be discovered. This latent relationship is manifested in the mysterious world of the combination of dreams and the objective world through metaphorical images, such as cages and eggs, feet and shoes, doors and caves, landscapes and paintings, and so on.At the same time,it discusses how I can be inspired by the metaphorical images in Magritte's works, whose works have an important and far-reaching influence on contemporary artists, and arouse my research on metaphorical images. In this influence and inspiration,I reconsider my experience and the objective world, guide me to the creative practice, combined with the current context of the metaphorical image used in the art of creation.Metaphorical painting promotes the progress of art and culture, and also inspires countless contemporary artists ' artistic creations.
