The past four decades witnessed the establishment of a large number of foreign-funded companies in China in the wake of the fast overall development of the country.Employees in foreign-funded enterprise have the requirement and necessity to understand Chinese laws and regulations. On the other hand, for the increasing exchanges between international laws and cultures in recent years, more and more people come to realize the significance of legal translation.Consequently, legal translation has further development. The translator was assigned by HR supervisor to translate legal files related to business license modification of foreign-funded company for reference while she worked as an assistant of HR and General Affairs in a foreign-funded company. After analyzing the source texts under the guidance of text analysis theory, the translator found the source texts are characteristic of accurate terminology, rigorous structure, and abundant long and complex sentences.Based on the recognition of these features, the translator selected static equivalence as translation strategy and analyzed the translation process with regard to meaning, structure, style and format equivalence.During the translation process, the translator combined text analysis theory and static equivalence to translate the source texts precisely with fully recognition of the texts. However, the target texts still have some deficiencies in structure for the translator's lack of legal knowledge. In accordance with this translation project, the translator found that for people who are not familiar with legal texts and lack of legal knowledge, text analysis theory will assist translators in knowing the source texts well and static equivalence strategies help to translate in a more precise way.
