This is a translation project report on Bullying in School: Perspectives from School Staff,Students and Parents edited by Lisa Rosen,Kathy DeOenellas and Shannon Scott and published in 2017,of which Chapter 2 is the source text. The overarching theme of the book is that considering multiple perspectives provides a more comprehensive understanding of bullying and can lead to more effective prevention and intervention programs. The report is divided into four parts.Part 1 is an introduction to the translation project, including its background, significance and the layout.Part 2 is a brief introduction to the authors as well as the main contents and features of the source text.Part 3 explains the guiding translation theory, summarizes the difficulties in translating, including the handling of terminologies, words with wide semantic scope as well as long sentences, and discusses corresponding solutions and translation methods employed with specific examples cited from the source text, such as addition, conversion, inversion and specification.Part 4 is the conclusion, which sums up the experience and lessons drawn from the project and mentions some problems in the translation still to be solved.
