The Research Of Cultural Words Paraphrasing Of Road To Success(High Level)

With the in-depth understanding of the relationship between language and culture,people recognize the importance of culture teaching in language teaching.Under the culture background,the new concept about category of words comes out,and Cultural Words is the representative one.Cultural Words teaching is not only an important content in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages but also an efficient way to combine language teaching and culture teaching together.If the learners want to master the cultural information of these words,the paraphrase is very vital.At present,the research about paraphrase of Cultural Words mainly focus on three aspects,including ontology,export-oriented lexicography and translation.However the reaseach towards textbook is too thin.Based on the above,we choose the advanced level of Road to Success(the Sprint and Success part)pubnished by Beijing Language and Culture University in 2008 and research the paprphrase of Cultural Words.The article has four parts as follows:The first part is introduction.This chapter briefly talks about the research cause,and introduce the reaseach stadus about Cultural words from demarcation,classification and papaphrase.On the basis of previous studies,we clear the concept of Cultural Words and its classification and ascertain its number in the textbook.The second part is analyzing Culural Words paraphrashing.On the aspect of defining meta-language,many characters in use are from International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education,but defining vocabularies are seriously beyond the outine.On the aspect of paraphrase methods,the text book uses synonyms & antonym,morpheme decomposition,definition,descriptive and explaining and synthesis method,and the descriptive and explaining method is used widely.On the aspect of paraphrase contents,from the components,the textbook roundly introduces the concept meaning,extended meaning,colorful meaning and grammar meaning of Cultural Words;from the sense selection,the textbook tends to choose text meaningbut neglect some words' extended meaning which would make learners confused.On the aspect of entry,there is a big problem about the lack of example illustration.The third part is some suggestions about Cultural Words paraphrase,mainly including: regulating the use of defining vocabularies,adjusting some paraphrase methods,perfecting components of meaning,adding examples and using illustrations.In the end,the article summarizes the main opinions and deficiencies.
