| The source text of this translation project report is chosen from the last two chapters of Jonathan P.Allen’s Technology and Inequality: Concentrated Wealth in a Digital World.Chapter 8,on the basis of the sharing economy,attempts to disclose the relationship between technology and inequality;Chapter 9 makes a conclusion on the role that digital technology should play in the world.The focus of this report is in chapter 4,which elaborates the difficulties the translator encountered during the translation and the corresponding solutions.According to Newmark’s text type theory,the chosen text belongs to informational text.Consequently,under the guidance of Newmark’s communicative translation theory,the translator attaches more importance to the feelings of the target language readers,striving to present a lucid and understandable translation.Besides,this translation project is supposed to serve as a reference to China’s research on whether technology will result in wealth concentration,as well as a good practical chance for the translator. |
