The paper discusses an English-Chinese translation practice project. The source text is a sci-tech academic paper, which is an experimental evaluation report published in Elsevier database and mainly introduces assistive technology evaluations on the therapeutic effects of remote-microphone technology(RM technology)for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD).This kind of literary form has a relatively concise and normative style, however, its language is also precise and typical like scientific English. In the paper, the writer focuses on studying three problems for the translator to pay attention to during the translation of this kind of copywriting: How to control the quality and progress of the translation through pre-translation preparation;Faced with the literary form with a strong technicality and a high requirement for the mastery of professional knowledge, how to comprehend the source text well and make an accurate translation accordingly; As the translator, how to deepen consciousness of responsibilities and make proper trade-offs between the meaning of source text and comprehension during translation under the guidance of Newmark's communicative translation theory. The paper shows that the translation edition of the source text becomes a model for professional assistive technology evaluation reports, but also provides reference for domestic assistive technology evaluation experiments,so as to promote the effective spread of frontier sci-tech application achievements in the academic industry.
