The idea of jointly building “the Silk Road Economic Belt” and “the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road”,often referred to as “the Belt and Road” Initiative,has spoken volume to China's commitment to building an open world economy,safeguarding free and inclusive trade and opposing all forms of protectionism.In response to the Belt and Road Initiative,the Exchange Meeting of Investment & Cooperation Between Chongqing and Countries Along the Belt and Road helped to foster a more open,effective platform for international cooperation between local companies and companies from countries along the Belt and Road,providing a strong impetus for domestic businesses to go global.The report on the Exchange Meeting of Investment & Cooperation Between Chongqing and Countries Along the Belt and Road first describes the author's consecutive interpreting task,including its background and requirements,and then the preparations the author made beforehand.Then,guided by the Interpretive Theory,it tries to find out the problems the author encountered and solutions to those problems by analyzing the feedbacks from the client and the audience and reviewing the whole interpreting process from the perspective of comprehension,de-verbalization and reexpression.On that note,the author hopes that the report can help to improve the onsite interpreting performance of the author and if possible,provide some insights and helpful reference to fellow student interpreters and relevant studies.
