The Specialization Of Financial General Service Words In E-C Translation In 2015 Report And Account Of TELECOM PLUS PLC

As the economic globalization's further development makes transnational financial activities more important in Chinese economy,the function of financial translation can never be ignored in this process.This thesis takes general service words in 2015 Report and Account of TELECOM PLUS PLC as the research objects and discusses the way of achieving their specializations in the process of translating.Based on the previous studies on translating financial words of previous researchers,the thesis,in the first place,ascertains the translation criteria of general service words: The primary feature of financial text is accuracy;the second is that the aesthetic feature should be taken into consideration.The thesis,taking the financial terminologies as a reference,determines the features of general service words during the translating process and explains them from three aspects including lexical features,semantic features and cultural features.Then,the author explained the inflection of the aesthetics in two aspects including the beauty in sound and the beauty in concise.According to the two criteria mentioned above,the author discusses three specific methods of translating financial general service words from English to Chinese.While the source language and the target language are in a word for word equivalency,it better to use the way of literal translation;in incomplete equivalency,changing the part of speech or extending semantically;with default in equivalency,borrowing words from interdisciplinary when the word is default in meaning,and translating literally with meaning supplement while some certain words are not comprehensive.During the translating process,the author revises the manuscript of the translation in the reference of some parallel texts and dictionaries.And the author hopes to provide a new thinking pattern for general service words translation and to realize the specialization of them in a certain financial text via their E-C translation of the text.
