| As China joins in more and more global economical exchange activities and gets much more closer with those western countries in aspects of finance and trade, the English financial news-based Chinese version becomes an indispensible informative medium to Chinese who nowadays have got involved in the economical circle. The quality of the Chinese version means a lot to the Chinese readers. Most of the Chinese translation works have contained the basic content of the original English news, but also a kind of language lack of financial text style and smoothness as well as clarity, which, thus considerably reduces the effect of news recipients’reading. Therefore, this thesis focuses on the idiomatic translation of English financial news, in a hope to help translators get a better approach to the idiomatic translation of English financial news.This thesis studies from the angle of idiomaticity the translation of English financial news, and it includes content of three parts:first, the concept of "idiomaticity" put forward on the basis of some related opinions on the meaning of idiomaticity, and also the application of the very concept to the English financial news translation; second, the analysis of the two key factors to be considered in the idiomatic translation——the differences between English and Chinese, the financial news style; third, the specific and applicable translation methods proposed according to the analysis of the two key factors mentioned above. |
