A Practice Report On The E-C Translation Of 2015 Financial Statements Of DJI Holding PLC

This report studies the translation of the financial statements of DJI Holding PLC and makes a brief introduction of the inherent requirements,features and difficulties of the translation task.In order to provide targeted Chinese readers with professional and accurate translation,the author carefully plans the translation process,including obtaining accounting knowledge,studying relevant parallel texts and accumulating accounting terminologies.The author translates the financial statements by adopting the Functional Equivalence Theory and the methods of literal translation and paraphrase.The report highlights the translation analysis of terms,expressions and sentences in the 2015 financial statements of DJI Holding PLC,and addresses the difficulties encountered during the process.The terms in the statements are translated with the help of assistant tools,such as physical dictionaries,online dictionaries,search engines,and parallel texts;and the sentence translation is completed through structure analysis,parallel texts analysis,etc.During the translation,the author finds that studying parallel texts is an effective way to achieve the functional equivalence between the original texts and targeted texts.Not only can the accuracy of translation be guaranteed but the equivalence of response of English readers and Chinese readers can be achieved.At the last stage,the author reviews the overall process,reflects the task,and makes a conclusion.
