| Nowadays,driven by the tide of economic globalization,localization service has become a flourishing industry.Translation,as a critical module of localization projects,holds the key to the success of the entire project.However,given the fact that localization has just developed for 10--20 years,researches on localization are limited in scope and scale at home.Based on the Integrated Breeding Platform(IBP)Website Localization Project and drawing upon localization studies at home and abroad,this report gives a detailed account of the whole process of the localization project,analyses the translating specificity involved,elaborates the concept and characteristics of localization,as well as reveals the relations and differences between localization of translation and traditional text translation.In addition,the report proposes the translator's reflection and recommendations towards the localization industry.This report aims to promote the specialization and standardization of localization industry in China. |
