Research On Regional Culture-based Emoticon Design

Nowadays,emoticons have already gained popularity among society,affecting people's communication and formulating an important culture of emoticon.Whereas,the design research on regional culture-based emoticon has not been deeply embarked in academia,and emoticon product featuring regional culture is still in embryonic stage with weakness in vulgar content,vague meaning and low identification level of regional culture.On the basis of the above problems,this thesis proposes the design research on regional culture-based emoticon.It also integrates regional culture into emoticons with an effort to enrich emoticon material,as well as cultural implication of emoticon.And it will strengthens people's awareness towards regional culture by carrying forward regional culture on the Internet.On the way of documents research,field investigation,questionnaire survey and practical verification,this thesis takes comprehensive analysis on regional culture and Zhoushan marine culture,extracting high identification level of regional culture in significant cultural elements,such as dialect,costume,food,dwelling house,folk art,historical figures,natural landscape and landmark building.Then,the above-mentioned cultural elements by ways of transforming and processing will be applied in creation of emoticons.At the same time,this thesis clarifies characteristics of users reaction and needs for emoticons featuring regional culture on the basis of analysis on survey data.What's more,this thesis clarifies communication elements in Internet context and major semantic types.On the part of visual presentation,it combines specific examples and analyzes image design,words design,color application,supplementary tools,scene setting with the integration of regional culture.Then,on the basis of the above-mentioned ways,that is,taking regional cultural elements,user analysis,context and semantics,visual presentation into account,it allocates and arrange rationally the time,place,figure and event so as to present the story of life and production.With design philosophy of health,sentiment and culture,the creation of products apply the way of systematic design to accomplish the whole set of meme of Zhoushan Larimichthys crocea in three subjects,including Zhoushan dialect chapter of Larimichthys crocea,lover chapter of Larimichthys crocea,caring chapter of Larimichthys crocea.Chinese regional culture has colorful implication,so it reflects practical need to integrate regional culture into emoticons in an attempt to innovate and flourish itself.In the future,the combination of emoticons and regional culture are sure to draw public attention and to emerge more qualified products,so it will provides references and enlightenment to people who create emoticons featuring regional culture.
