An Experiment Study On The Collectivism Value Orientation About Russian College Students: Evidence From Eye Movement

During the period of social transition in Russia,the young generation of cultural value was going through the stage of confusion-conflict-inspirereconstruction,and then they gradually established a stable cultural values.In this paper,under the background of “the Belt and Road”,Russian social transition the cultural values of college students could reflect the current Russian social change process,and understand the change of social psychology in Russia.This study researched on the cultural value orientation's explicit and implicit characteristics of Russian college students by Questionnaire,the Implicit Association Test and Eye Movement technology.We understood Russian college students' cultural value in the society transition period,so as to provide some supports for collectivism education and shaping the value for youth.In the first study,we investigated the cultural values of Russian college students by the Individualism and Collectivism Scale,and then analyzed the connotation of collectivism and individualism through the free association questionnaire.The second study contained two the Implicit Association Test,to explore the implicit emotional attitude of Russian college students on the collective,and the implicit cultural value orientation in the self-level.In the third study,we deeply explored the implicit cultural value orientation of Russian college students by the Eye Movement technology.The following conclusions are drawn:1.The Russian version of the Individualism and Collectivism Scale had better reliability and validity results for Russian college students.The connotation of “collectivism” were “coupling belief” “social organization”“The sense of belonging” “social responsibility” “collective priority”“commonality”.The connotation of “individualism” is the “self-concept”“egoism” “individual achievement” “ability and quality” “question authority”.2.The explicit cultural value orientation of Russian college students was dominated by horizontal collectivism,and the scores of vertical collectivism,vertical individualism and horizontal individualism were all above the average level.College students only showed gender differences in the level of horizontal collectivism,and female were statistically higher than male.In the vertical individualism dimension,the age effect was shown,and the score increased with age.3.The implicit cultural value orientation of Russian college students was collectivism value orientation.The results of implicit association test showed that college students showed a positive implicit attitude towards the collective.The implicit effect on collectivism value orientation was larger.4.The results of eye-movement research showed that college students had longer fixation time and more fixation counts,compared with individualism words.
