The Internet boom makes software of various kinds for computer and smart phone become a must for people's daily life and work,and that gives rise to a new type of translation—software localization translation.Most of the existing research on software localization translation is carried out from software engineering.Less research is conducted from a different perspective—translation,and supported by translation theories and standards.In order to enrich current research,translation theories will be introduced into software localization translation.The word,grammar and semantics analysis on the translation of iOS Human Interface Guidelines leads to a conclusion—the translation theory by Peter Newmark serves as a scientific guidance for software text translation.Being usually regarded as text of informative type,software text can be rendered information-faithful and communication-effective on the theoretical basis of Communicative Translation.
