Study On The Cultural Heritage Protection Of Urban Renewal In Foshan City

People may shape the building and verse versa.People create a unique culture of the city when they build the city.The involved cultural heritage does not only include building construction,spatial layout,unique facade,but also include the values,the essence of folk and traditional crafts.It is the representation of urban spirits and unique cultural heritage.Foshan,as a famous historical and cultural city,has experienced trials and hardships.The urban renewal is an outstanding political achievement of local government.However,it emphasizes on urban upgrading of commercial promotion and outlook improvement by holding the flag of “cultural heritage protection” to certain content,even it is a removal project with mass-demolishing and mass-construction.Undoubtedly,it has limitations and shortcomings for cultural heritage protection,and also the contextual inheritance and continuance may in a bad way.This paper takes partial cultural heritages of Foshan city as examples and discusses the basic concepts and related theoretical basis of cultural heritage protection based on the summary of research background,domestic and abroad research state of cultural heritage protection.Additionally,it applies the research method of linking theory with practice to analyze the cultural heritage protection of urban renewal of Foshan.It discovers the problems on cultural heritage protection in the urban renewal of Foshan,and takes analysis aiming at the causes of the problems.Aiming the problem that urban renewal of Foshan has made the cultural heritage protection into a dilemma.The author proposes four countermeasures base on role of government,NGO and the public specifically,i.e.the centricity and positioning,refine the policy,enhance consciousness and motivate civic activism.Additionally,the author proposes implementation suggestion on cultural heritage conservation in the urban renewal of Foshan city.In the future,urban renewal of Foshan will take cultural heritage conservation as the center,and livable city which perfects the spatial quality as the position to protect and activate the cultural heritages,inherit and continue the Lingnan Culture.
