In the new era,with the comprehensive promotion of the One Belt and One Road project,China and Kenya have had more exchanges and cooperation.Under this circumstance,more and more Kenyans are learning Chinese,hoping to get opportunities of studying in China or working in Chinese enterprises in the future.HSK is the only international Chinese examination,its certificate is the key to get these opportunities,its importance is self-evident.Therefore,how to help students pass the HSK exam successfully is a question that every Chinese teacher in Kenya should think about.Based on the knowledge of HanYu JiaoCheng(volume1)and comprehensive analysis HSK level 3 exam outline and characteristics of the test questions,this paper discusses the strategies of guiding HSK level 3 from two aspects: knowledge skills and answering skills.There are six parts in this article.The first part is the introduction;it introduces the background and significance of the paper's topic,the research contents and methods,emphases on previous research results of the Chinese teaching in Kenya,HSK ontology and exam strategies,the HanYu JiaoCheng textbook and HSK tutoring textbook,and gives the author's brief evaluation.The second part introduces the HSK level 3 exam outline and textbook HanYu JiaoCheng(volume1)and compares these two from three parts: vocabulary,grammar and topic.In conclusion,HanYu JiaoCheng(volume1)involves most of the contents of HSK level 3 exam outline requirements,as a result using HanYu JiaoCheng(volume1)to tutor HSK level 3 is feasible.The third part summarized the characteristics and the key points of each section of HSK level 3 on the basis of the analysis of the past exam paper of HSK level 3.The fourth part summarizes the errors of students in the preparation of HSK level 3 mainly from two aspects: vocabularies and sentences.At the same time it also makes corresponding teaching strategies on the basis of analyzing the reasons of the errors.The fifth part is the full text of focus,mainly shares some experience of coaching HSK level 3 on the basis of the previous analysis.It is divided into three sections.The first two sections are teaching materials of textbook for improving knowledge skills of HSK level 3 and discussing the test-taking skills for different questions of HSK level 3.The last section is the evaluation and analysis of the above teaching strategies.The sixth part is the conclusion of this paper,which mainly summarizes the research contents,research significance and research limitations of this paper.Comprehensive teaching guidance to the Kenyan students with regard to HSK level 3,none has discussed,is the biggest innovation point,as it also indicates the practical significance of writing this article.I hope the teaching suggestions mentioned in this thesis can provide some helps to Chinese teachers in Kenya in the future.
