In Philippines,Chinese education is generally referred to as "Chinese education".Chinese is one of the five special languages,Chinese,French,Japanese,German and Spanish,which is set up by the government of Philippines in 2011.According to statistics,by 2016,among the five special languages in Philippines,the number of Chinese classes was the most,and Chinese education is developing rapidly in Philippines.Some international schools have gradually begun to realize the importance of Chinese education in the development of schools.In order to improve the competitiveness of schools,many international schools have set up Chinese courses to bring Chinese courses into the school curriculum system.In July 2017,I went to Philippines as a Chinese teacher volunteer to go to Philippines for Chinese teaching.During the period,I found that the international schools in the Manila area have become the third main subjects of Chinese education in this area except for the Confucius college and the traditional Chinese school.The research of this kind of international schools can help us get to know and discover the new trend of overseas Chinese teaching.Singapore School Manila has a long history in Chinese teaching and has accumulated rich experience in Chinese teaching.The study of Chinese teaching in this school can be a miniature of the situation of Chinese teaching in international schools in this area.This article will study the current situation of Chinese teaching in Manila Singapore school,which is the international school that I teach,and makes a survey and study from the school curriculum,the situation of Chinese teaching and the situation of students' Chinese studying,and summarizes the characteristics and existing problems of the teaching of Chinese in Manila Singapore school.On this basis,several suggestions for improvement of Chinese teaching in schools are put forward,hoping to arouse the attention of related researches in China.The research content of this article is divided into four chapters.The introduction explains the reasons for the topic,the research object,the research method,the significance of the research and the innovation of this study.It also introduces the achievements of the predecessors,which is the theoretical basis of this article.The first chapter is divided into four parts.The first part is the simple combing of the Chinese education history in Philippines.The second part sums up the characteristics of the development of the Chinese language education in Philippines,points out that the development of the Chinese language education in Philippines is different from that of other countries in Southeast Asia,and the third part is the International School of Philippines,Manila,and the last part is a summary of the above three parts.The second chapter is to introduce the relevant information of the school in Manila,including the basic situation of the school,the course setting,the situation of Chinese teaching and so on,and also explain the use of the Chinese teaching materials.The third chapter is the survey and summary of the present situation of school teaching and learning in Manila Singapore,including two parts,one is the teaching situation of Chinese teachers,the other is the learning of students in Chinese,and finally a summary.The fourth chapter,on the basis of the results of the third chapter,summarizes the advantages and problems of the school Chinese teaching in Manila Singapore.The problems will be explained from the aspects of the use of teachers and students,the use of teaching resources and the development of cultural activities.The last part is a summary.It summarizes and summarizes the main contents of the article,and points out the shortcomings of this article.I hope this article can bring some inspiration to the future research or investigation work,and play a role in attracting jade.
