| Recently,with the continual popularity of Chinese language all around theworld, number of overseas learners shows a great rise, especially thosestudents who are in secondary schools and primary schools. Therefore,distinguishing the teaching situation according to the different countries andlearners with different language background has become an importantresearch subject. In view of this, the author took the opportunity as a Hanbanvolunteer Chinese teacher for one year to investigate Chinese languageteaching in Victorian secondary schools and primary schools in Australia. Afterstudying the teaching material, interviewing local Chinese teachers andstudents and issuing questionnaires, the author introduced the situation ofChinese language teaching in Victorian secondary and primary schools fromthe macro view, including the number of learners, the construction of teachersgroup, curriculum standards, text books and teaching methodology that beingused; From the medium view, analyzing the teaching mode and pointing outthe advantages and disadvantages; From the micro view, recording one ofChinese class from each of secondary school and primary school andanalyzing them descriptively. Then the author pointed out the main problemsthat Victorian schools were facing and put forward suggestions to solve theproblems. |
