Chinese education in Philippines has been broadly concerned of by bothdomestic and foreign scholars, especially Chinese groups. However, as the fourthlargest city and the significant education city in Philippines, Iloilo’s Chineseeducation has been paid little attention by scholars. What does the students’ presentsituation like in Iloilo city? What influence and inspiration does it bring about toPhilippines Chinese education and even the whole overseas Chinese education? Withthese questions, the author, taking four Chinese schools in Iloilo city as example, investigated the present situation of the four schools and analyzed and studied theresult of the investigation in the form of statistic data.Taking the advantage of the opportunity of working as a volunteer Chineseteacher in Iloilo city, the author conducted profound, scientific and detailedinvestigation and study in the number of the students, the blood construction of thestudents, so on and so forth, by visiting the leaders and teachers in the four Chineseschools of Iloilo city and handing out questionnaires to students in the four Chineseschools. Through the investigation and survey, the author found that the number of thestudents in four Chinese schools had not decreased drastically as what most scholarssaid before. On the contrary, the number of the students had increased by small rate inrecent years. However, in the course of investigating and studying the blood lineage, the author found that the number of students that had increased was not from thestudents with Chinese blood, but the students with Philippines blood and other bloodlineage. This present situation is bound to make direct or indirect effect on the teaching object, nature, goal, mediating language, time, effectiveness, the overall ofwhich is called teaching trait, of Philippines Chinese education. In connection withthese effects, the author has made a profound research and study on bye one.
