The Application Of The Interpretive Theory In Diplomatic Interpreting

With the advancement of the economic development and the improvement of the international status,China is becoming more integrated into the community of international and working more contacts with other countries more frequently.English as the first international language,a good interpretation level in the process of the communication became fundamental to the dialogue with other countries in the world.This thesis,based on the case study of the regular foreign press conference in January 2015,and combines the interpretive theory.It is intended to help the interpreters express the ideas better in the process of diplomatic interpretation.Also,it gives the interpreters both theoretical support and practical experience to help them to improve the interpretation.The interpretive theory was founded by a French named Danica Seleskovitch.She's a famous translation theorist.The theory of interpretive had a profound impact on the research and development of the interpretation.The most important part of interpretive theory is equivalence in meaning.The exploration of the interpretive theory is meant to help the interpreters do better in combining theory with practice and learn how to apply the appropriate methods and techniques to guide the practice better.Diplomatic interpreting is the key channel to express opinions and views of one country,and a significant field in interpreting.Diplomatic interpreters work as a bridge between countries and international communities.So the success of diplomatic interpreting largely determines stable development of the country's foreign relations.This thesis using the regular foreign press conference as case study probe into the difficulties and tries to find the method or skills under the guidance of theory to overcome them.This thesis is intended to help the interpreters with their work and help them express their ideas more accurately,and ensure the success of the activities on all diplomatic occasions.This thesis provides theory with a view to promote the practice and help the interpreters use strategies better to convey our point of view.
