| The Enlightenment Movement in modern China contains many profound thought propositions.As the dual symbol of the old system and the old order,“superstition”has become one of the most obvious propositions.In the context of the revolutionary narrative that occupies the mainstream of the era,with another new ideal as its sustenance,“anti-superstition” builds a comprehensive critique and reconstruction of the Chinese society.This article takes the anti-superstitious works of novel plexus newspaper as the research object,by exploring the characteristics of“anti-superstition” under the visual threshold of the science and the connotations of“anti-superstition” in anti-superstitious works,the final integration of the anti-superstitious works of novel plexus newspaper has been achieved.The body of this article is divided into three parts.The first part,combining with the changes in the editorial staff,compiled 72 anti-superstitious works published in novel plexus newspaper from a time-wise perspective,and discussed the characteristics of the works in terms of creative methods in order to explore the efforts made by the intellectuals gathered in novel plexus newspaper to abandon the stereotype that “literati use words to advocate Shinto and breed superstition”;The second part,starting from the text,clarifies the specific connotations of“anti-superstition” against ghost theory,against custom tradition,and against religion;the third part,put the proposition of “anti-superstition” into the scientific visual threshold presented by novel plexus newspaper to examine the role of“anti-superstition” in the modernization of the new nation-state,and the exposure to absolute scientific vigilance.Finally,the interpretation of the connotation of“anti-superstition” in novel plexus newspaper is classified as a type of intellectual’s grasp of the concept of modernity under the era of history. |
