The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the level of market trust and consumer protection institution across countries through questionnaire survey, and to empirically research whether consumer protection institution can promote market trust.Through research, the average market trust level of developed countries is obviously higher than that of developing countries. In developed countries, Sweden and New Zealand are supreme, Canada, USA, Germany and Japan and Russia rank secondly, while Britain, France, Spain and South Korea are lowest. In developing countries, the average market trust level of European developing countries is highest, with that of developing countries in Asia and Africa flat. These results conform to the theory that market trust increases with the improvement and perfection of market economy.Compared with the overall level, the market trust in China is relatively low. The lack of market trust in our country is serious and needs improvement urgently. Through empirically analysis, unconditionally return institution, punitive damages institution and consumer education institution have a significant positive effect on market trust, with the effect of unconditionally return institution greatest.Consequently, it is advised that unconditionally return institution, punitive damages institution and consumer education institution should be established and improved to contribute to market trust. What's more, it is also suggested that market economy, income per capita and education level should be improved to increase market trust.
