“Fight Against Laws”Or“Pragmatism”

The boost of urbanization wave leads more and more peasant lost their land, and also triggers so many disputes. With the collective land disputes happened in Z village, S county, Jiangsu Province as the main experience and materials, the participated observation and deep interview as the main study methods, and the present analytical patterns about rights protection's strategies among peasant such as “fight against laws”,“fight against reasons” as the theoretical references, this paper makes systematic analyses in the backgrounds and the causes of this dispute, the process and the methods while the peasant fight for their rights, and the characteristics of rights protection and its influences.The result shows that influenced by the stimulation of economic interest caused by the urbanization wave, by the obstructed channel of appeal resulted in the system defects, and by the stakeholders' plight and their power and poverty, etc. the peasants in Z village finally go onto the way to struggle and to fight for rights. The peasants make choices during the formation of their thoughts, find vents for their emotions when the conflicts escalate, and adjust their dealing ways in violent confrontations. All of these reflect, in different degrees, the richness in peasants' rights fighting. With this as base, and according to different fields, this paper explains the characteristics of the strategies among peasants' rights protection in a practical way. This paper holds that the event happened in Z village,the pragmatism features of peasant' rights protection strategies can be at least reflected in several aspects, the optional usage of systems, the rational vent of emotions, and the timely regulate. In another word, the peasant adopt the result orientation while fighting for their rights, take useful for truth, focus on the present profits and loss, belittle the stereotyped planning and arrangement and initiate the actions for rights protection in a pragmatic way.
