An Analysis Of The Child's Family Power And Family Support Value Influenced Aging Support

China has more and more elderly people, so, the problem of aging support is more serious. The topic has been discussed with high frequency. Who is charged for elderly people? What factors influenced aging support? It's worth to discuss for it not only has the meaning for academic,but also benefit to solve the problem. Some change happened in Modernism china, the daughter increased support to their own parents, but reduce the support to their parents-in-law. The previous study showed us :women take the power of their family and changing of family value are two important reason for such situation. To examine the truly relationship between them,we do this research.This paper is based on the data of the China's general social survey CGSS2006,with the sample of 1467 married and double parents are survived. We define the content of aging support of “economical support ” and “care given support”, classify aging support as three classification, “patrilineal support ”, “matrilineal support ”and “dual support”. We regard if the respondent can decide to give their parents support as having the family power,regard if parents and parents-in-law both need help,will the married woman helped parents-in-law as they have traditional family value firstly. Firstly,shows the basic information of the data. Secondly,we do the interactive analysis,using the variable age, hukou, education and some other variables with the aging support. Finally,we create the model to examine the relationship between dependents and independents.The result shows, the family power and family support value don't influence child's aging support behavior significance. The previous conclusion has to be think it over.Hukou,age and support from older parents influenced child's aging support. Especially,child's aging support were deeply influenced by the support their taken which from their parents or parents in law.
