The Study On Imprisonment Of Juvenile Delinquents Of China

In recent year, juvenile deliquency is declining either in total number ofcases or in total number of prisoned people. However the type of juvenile delinquencyand the factors effecting their crimes became diverse and complicated. Based onthe age, charges, education of these young crimals, this thesis summarized, categorized analysed, and finally obtained profound and direct recognition of the juvenile deliquency. In the meantime, by observing the behavior and features of adolescent prisoners,this thesis deeply analyses the root causes of their crimes.Generally, the policy of ‘Rehabilitation first, penalty thereafter' had adapt to the features of juvenile delinquency. Meanw hile the policy had met the r equirement of correctional action. However there are still some defects in balancing rehabilitation and penalty. On one hand, we should ensure stability of society, justice and authority of law by virtue of punishing the young inmates by coercive action. O n the other hand, we should shield them from over-limiting right, rude and simple management in order to make them easier to reenter the society after they are discharged. Those correctional measures of imprisonment are illuminative and instructive to soci ety in preventing delinquency.The structure of this thesis is as follow, first, elaborately collects, classifies and comprehensively analyses the present situations of the delinquency's features. Then, based on those features, this thesis probes the root c ause of their crimes. And the thesis analyses the main traitements of delinquents, gives answers to how to teach and rehabilitate those young inmates accordingly. Meanw hile, it evaluates the effect of those traitements in order to seek the problems in traitements. Thereafter, referring to the creative experience of traitements practices of some other prisons, the thesis delivers suggestion of perfecting the traitement policies.Finally, The thesis suggests on how to prevent delinquency according to the analysis on features of delinquency, methods of treatments, and fruits of education.
