Since the 1980 s, it appears more and more mobile population in China, especially the rural-urban migration which is the most dramatic. Urban migration impacts the Rural Family Support continuously and it produces varying degrees of impacts on the functions of Rural Family Support's economic support, life care and spiritual solace. How do the affects produce? Are these affects single or double? What kinds of attacks and challenges are the traditional Rural Family Support facing? How to Improve the function in such a case in order to make a balance between Rural Family Support's Internal demand and its external environment? Based on the above thoughts, it makes an on-site study about the affect which rural-urban migration brings to Rural Family Support.The study choosed L County, An Hui Province as the research base. It adapted the method of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews combining with Sociological Methods. On the basis of description of the economic, social and spiritual status of existing rural elderly population, it analysises the different affecs which children's migration brings to Rural Elderly's economic support, life care and spiritual solace, emerges an interactional operating mechanism on each other. Finally, the study makes relevant recommendations on improving the functions of Rural Family Support.Firstly, in terms of economic support, Rural-urban migration increases the income of migrants, the sharing of household income and the altruism of family members make the old's transfer income increase. Economic support has a positive correlation with life care and spiritual solace. Secondly, in terms of life care, Rural-urban migration decreases the supply of life care and even increases the old's labor burden. Different people have different demands to life care. The oldest old or disabled elderly have a strong demand for life care. Thirdly, in terms of spiritual solace, with the improvement of living standards of rural residents, spiritual solace is becoming more and more important. It emerges double sound effects under the influence of rural-urban migration. The old's satisfaction with spiritual solace is depended largely on the supply of economic support and life care. Simultaneously it also plays a guiding role in the supply of them.Finally, as for the affects rural-urban migration brings, it is considered that we should vigorously develop family support sevices to effectively solve the old's problem in life care. Moreover, developping rural economy to weaken limitment of rural- urban migration and shorten the distance between generations has a fundamental role in improving the function of family support. Ideologically, enhancing offspring's filial piety and reducing the psychological dependence of the old to culture an autonomous view of the old have an important effect on maintaining the balance between supply and demand of spiritual solace.
