The Study On Demand Difference Of Long-term Care For Elderly In China

China is a country which has the largest population of disabled elderly in the world.With bad physical conditions,elders cannot live by their own and need some help.Thus provide long-term care services to meet their needs to protect their life quality and build a healthy aging society.Therefore,to understand the demand differences in long-term care of the elderly is of great significance.This paper studies the differences of long-term care needs of the elderly from the angle of region and time.On the basis of regional differences,the disability rate and disability scale of elderly people in different regions were analyzed by SPSS cluster and statistical analysis.The results show that:(1)the proportion of elderly people in need of long-term care varies greatly in different regions.(2)the scale of elderly people in need of long-term care also varies greatly in different regions.According to the disability rate and scale of the elderly in different regions,it is concluded that the demand of long-term care is large and the regional distribution is complex.For the study on time difference,the data of CLHLS in 2008 and 2011 is selected to analyze the disability status of disabled elderly.The results show that:(1)compared with 2008,the ADL disability rate of the elderly Increased,and the overall health of the elderly deteriorated in 2011.(2)compared with 2008,the disability rate of old people increased;the disability rate of old people in rural areas was higher than that of urban elderly people,the disabled female elderly was higher than that of male.(3)the scale of severe disability elderly is expanding.Countermeasures and suggestions are raised as follows:(1)take long-term care for regional planning.The developed areas can develop institutional care services;The central and western areas with large disability scale can build the new home care model,take social forces to narrow the differences between urban and rural nursing resources.(2)emphasize on long-term care development strategy.Implement the aging institutional care,improve the elderly’ living environment,reinforce the family care function.(3)break the long-term care fund difficulties.Regardless of region or time difference,the dilemma of long-term care fund need to be solved urgently.
