A Study On Elderly Long-term Care Problem In Shanxi Province

In recent years,the proportion of the elderly population in Shanxi Province has been rising.At the end of 2015,the proportion of the elderly population aged 60 years and over is 14.45%,and the elderly population aged 65 and above is 9.1%.According to estimates,by the year of 2005,the proportion of the population will reach 11%,the average annual growth of nearly 0.4 percentage points.It can be seen that the elderly population in Shanxi Province is large,the growth rate is fast and gradually presents the trend of aging and empty nesting.At the same time the number of disabled elderly and the oldest-old people is also increasing gradually,so the demand of long-term care needs for elderly are very large.With the rapid development of Shanxi economy,the increase of population mobility,the gradual change of family structure to miniaturization and sub-replacement fertility,the long-term care system mainly based on the family's long-term care in Shanxi Province has been seriously affected.The current long-term care system is obviously hardly to meet the needs of long-term care of the elderly in Shanxi Province.The government attaches great importance to the elderly pension problem,there are a lot of literature on the elderly to study,but the current long-term care for the elderly in Shanxi Province is rare.Based on the theory of social security as the basis for research,comprehensive economics,nursing,psychology,combined with the data base.It is found that the long-term care of disabled elderly in Shanxi province is facing problems such as insufficient supply,inadequate allocation of resources,and lack of professional care services.The causes of these problems are the rapid growth of the elderly population,the slow development of long-term care,but also the lack of sound laws and regulations and human resources training mechanism.Finally,according to the problems,the author puts forward some suggestions on improving the laws and regulations,improving the personnel training programs,and integrating the long-term care resources.The paper may have a lot of shortcomings,but I hope this research can help to improve the long-term care of the elderly in Shanxi Province.It is hoped that the long-term care system for the elderly in Shanxi will be improved to meet the needs of the elderly in the long term,so that the elderly can have a happier life.
