Mencius "Benevolent Governance" Thought And Its Contemporary Value

Mencius is the pre-qin period thinker,politician and educator.He inherited and developed the benevolence thought of Confucian.In Chinese history,he was the first man who put forward the "benevolent governance" idea,and developed it into a complete system.It made Confucianism reach a new peak,"Benevolent governance" is the core of Mencius political ideas,Which become the mainstream of Chinese traditional political thoughts.The later generations could absorb and draw lessons from the development of Chinese society.It also provided policies for the modernization construction of the contemporary Chinese thought and culture resources.Deepening study of Mencius "benevolent governance" thought is of far-reaching historical and important practical significance.This thesis mainly is divided into four parts.At first it shows the purpose and significance of this thesis.Secondly,it describes the background and conditions of production of Mencius' idea of "benevolent governance".The usage of iron promotes the development of agricultural economy.Ceremony music bad situation intensified the contradiction among the warring states.Cultural schools of thought contend creates the idea of "benevolent governance".Mencius inherited and developed the thoughts of Confucius "benevolence",with "four side said" the theory of "goodness" theory as the theoretical basis.To illustrate the cause and effect of "benevolent governance",this article combed the idea of "benevolent governance" system trajectory in different periods: the development of the Han and Tang Dynasties period practice period,perfecting stage of the development of Song Dynasty,the Ming Dynasty the development of flat period,Qing Dynasty and the development of the open period of the Republic of China.The focus of this article is from the political,economic and cultural three domain analysis and expounds the main content of Mencius' idea of "benevolent governance".Summarizing in the idea of "benevolent governance" shows the love for all the people and things and the value orientation of content,principles and thinking,moral supremacy of social pursuit of the characteristics of the three aspects.Finally,evaluation of Mencius' idea of "benevolent governance" from two aspects of positive and negative.The innovation of this article is that the "people-oriented" theory,"clear political punishment" policy,the principle of "love" and "leisure","the gentleman" the cultivation of the personality value of five aspects.It characterized by China's modernization in adhere to the people-oriented,the idea of governing for the people.Implements the policy of the rule of law.To ensure the sustainable development of the ecological environment.Carry forward the socialist core values to intensify propaganda.The leading cadres of strict shape content.This paper adopt the method of literature analysis and comparative study of Mencius' idea of "benevolent governance" and docking inheritance and transformation of contemporary,offers a new reference for China's modernization thought and theoretical basis.Because of my academic level is limited,the assurance of pair of Mencius' idea of "benevolent governance" is not enough detailed and profound,for its contemporary value of the research is not enough in-depth,I will be in the future study in further research.
