A Research Into Mencius' Ideology Of Ethical Politics

Mencius is a famous Chinese ancient thinker and philosopher. And he is also one of the most important inherits of Confucianism that Confucius founds. It is different from the legal politics of the West that Chinese traditional Confucianism is a culture of ethical politics, which binds ethic and politics together and serves as the main characteristic of the traditional culture of China. This special theory originated from Confucius, and it was enriched by Mencius and Shomcius to reveal its embodiment from ethic and politics, and was concluded by Dong Zhongshu who merged ethics and politics in accordance eventually. Mencius played the important role in the construction of the theory. On the basis of Confucius'theory, he gave politics an ethic annotation and influenced later thinker profoundly. His Benevolence Government based on Man's good nature at birth connected ethic with politics spontaneously and demonstrated his wide-ranging political order. His ethical politics theory had the profound influence on the thinking mode of Confucian's intrinsic surmounting, the subject of Song Ming neo-Confucianism and the construction of ancient ethical politics. And it was one of the main successful ideas of the governors in the history of China to rule the country effectively. Now, in the new time of our country's moral reconstruction, especially in the course of the construction of the socialism harmonious society, the research of Mencius'ideology still can provide the thought reference for the moral politics and political civilization.This paper bases on three parts.
