With the reform and opening-up over the past 30 years, profound changes are happening in China's economy and society. The modern family, not only its scale is small, the intergenerational life concept and life style are very different. In the transition period, more and more elderly and their children wish to have their own living space to avoid the embarrassment of living together. At present, China has entered a period of rapid aging, and the trend of aging of the aged is increasingly obvious, the endowment of elders attracted widespread attention from all walks of life. In the growing ranks among the elderly, elders living alone are concerned as a special group. This paper use the survey data of single-dwelling elders' status and demand aged 70 and over in Chengdu 2013 to discuss their willingness of endowment and it's influencing factors. Use statistical methods to modeling and analysis, and finally put forward relevant suggestions according to the conclusions of the analysis. The full text is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction. First, the introduction of the background and the significance of the research; then, literature review of research results of domestic and foreign about the single-dwelling elders and the willingness of endowment; then, the introduction of the research methods and framework; at last, the innovation and deficiencies of this paper.The second part includes the related concepts and theoretical basis. Firstly, the definition of the single-dwelling elders, various endowment form and life care; then, introduce the theoretical basis of the research, including the value of blood kinship theory, social support network theory and welfare pluralism theory.The third part is the main part of the thesis, namely the description and analysis of the investigation results, including chapter third and chapter four. The third chapter introduces the basic information of the survey sample and the willingness of endowment. The basic information includes demographic characteristics, economic and health status, self-care ability and mental state. Most of the single-dwelling elders are widowed women, aged between 70-90, the overall level of education is not high, and the male's education level is higher than the female; their main expenditure are daily living expenses and medical expenses, and relatively independent in economy, but there are still nearly 70% of the single-dwelling elders put child support as their second main economic sources; most of them suffering from 1 or 2 chronic diseases, the highest prevalence of disease are hypertension, arthritis and heart disease, the proportion of poor self-rated health was as high as 40.7%, far more than the urban elderly; most of them can take care of themselves, up and down the stairs, bath, toilet are relatively difficult for them, and functional loss rate of doing housework, taking part in outdoor activities and using telephone is high. Chapter four includes theoretical analysis, chi-square test and multiple regression analysis. Regression results show that, demographic characteristics, economic status, physical condition, mental state, interpersonal relationships and understanding of the non family endowment pattern exists significant correlation with the willingness of endowment of the single-dwelling elders.The third part is the policy suggestions and prospect. In the fifth chapter, suggestions including show respect to the single-dwelling elders'willingness of endowment, pay attention to the safety and mental health of single-dwelling elders, improve the welfare of single-dwelling elders, standardize endowment pattern are puts forward based on the results of the study. Chapter six is outlook, calls for more research on single-dwelling elders in other areas and rural single-dwelling elders.
