A Study On The Solutions To The Problems Existing In The Relationship Construction Between Police And People In Benxi

The essence of the relationship between police and people lies in the party-mass and leader-mass relationships. During the process of law enforcement, policemen’s norms and service attitude will exert a direct effect on the public image of police forces. To some extent, the closeness of the relationship between police and people reflects a city or region’s leader-mass relationship and it also directly reflects the local people’s approval and satisfaction towards the construction of the police team. However, now the relationship construction between police and people in China still face some problems. Taking Benxi as an example, the problems are as follows: some policemen’s qualities are low; people expect too much of the public security organ and are lack of law knowledge; the social organization structure and the values have changed, so have the government’s management functions. These existing problems exert a direct influence on the relationship construction between police and people in Benxi.Taking the relationship construction between police and people in Benxi as an example, the author applied the methods of literature review and investigation to study the situation and the actual effect about the relationship construction between police and people in Benxi. Firstly, the author put out questionnaires to the residents and the police of Benxi. Then the author combined it with the practical problems so as to find out the main reasons that cause the current situation including the lack of public security organs self construction and the imperfect supervision system. Finally the author put forward the solutions to strengthen the construction of the public security organs, to give full play to mass work, to standardize the police duties and tasks and to establish a performance evaluation mechanism. Through this study we can put forward specific proposals to improve the relationship construction between police and people in Benxi so as to actively guide the local police to discover the problems existing in the work. At the same time it also can guide the masses to regard police job functions correctly, thus effectively helping to improve the relationship between police and people in Benxi. Therefore, it is of great significance to promote the harmonious relationship construction between police and people in Benxi.
