Ethnic interest groups play a significant role in American politics.Especially since the end of the Cold War,the country witnessed a gradual increase in the involvement and growing influence of interest groups in foreign policies.In such acontext of the multicultural foreign policy of the United States and the participation of various ethnic interest groups in the foreign affairs towards their ancestry countries,Cuban-American interest groupshave influenced the development of U.S.-Cuba relations to varying degrees.As a conservative interest group,the Cuban American National Foundation has been staunchly hardliner on Cuba issues.It has exerted profound influence on U.S.-Cuba relations through participating in government programs,promoting the related bills and acts,controlling Florida's Cuban voting bloc.By contrast,liberal Cuban interest groups showed limited influence.However,the political attitude of Cuban community are changing gradually due to the new generation of Cuban Americans with different priorities concerned,which may alter the path of U.S.-Cuba relations in the future.
