Filial piety as a cultural system,a kind of social ideology,is along with the development of the social changes.In contemporary,filial piety culture as the parent-child relationship should play its proper value.A good filial piety culture can contribute to social development and progress.Filial piety is an important part of contemporary moral education,and also one of the many problems facing the one-child generation induced by the family planning policy of the 1970 s.As for filial pretty,the one-child generation has its unique ideas of the time and ever changing circumstances.C hildren are the most important pension resource to their parents.However,to the one-child families,they are lack of this resource.Lots of people start to pay more attention to the problems of the one-child family.If the problem of the one-child family pension can be resolved appropriately,it will make a significant impact on the social,family and parents.The author explores the deep meaning of filial piety;elaborates its influence on social life in the past and the present;analyzes what the one-child generation really thinks about filial piety.Besides,the author makes a comparison between traditional and modern thoughts of filial piety and does a research on “empty-nest family” problems and measures taken to support parents.All these effort shows that the one-child generation does have different thoughts about how to provide the aged.At last,the one-generation should know,under the shadow of integration of global economy and culture,the most important thing to establish a correct concept of filial piety is learn to absorb advanced Western thoughts on the basis of preserving our traditional virtues.
