With the development of the society,the speeding up of urbanization,more and more youth into the city by getting work,going to school or buying house.As their root foothold in the city,in order to improve theirs life or look after their grandchildren,a large number of old people are trailing in urban communities.This group of people are called elderly migrants.Through qualitative research methods,this study describes theirs daily city life,understands their adaptation process,analysis of the factors and puts forward the constructive suggestions,in order to help elderly migrants adopting city life.This study will be describe the basic process of disadapt to city life.The adaptive process is divided into three phases,and six times,the early stage(close period,contact period),the middle stage(conflict period,adjust period),the late stage(acceptance period,adaptation period).Each elderly migrant has their own individual characteristics and relative independence,the process is not fully synchronized and adaptation degree is not exactly the same.Mainly include the social factors affecting the adaptation process and result,such as :the community factors,the family factors,the aspects of the personal factors.Elderly migrants leave to their homeland for a long time,and come to their children'new home in the strange city,if they can not adapt to the new city life.it will be a serious matter for the social stability.Elderly migrants adapting the city's new life need multilateral cooperation,take corresponding measures to build the government's supports,community works together,family palm,and their own personal efforts,All these measures can help elderly migrants adapt to the new city's life and establish the sense of the new city.
