A Study On Improving Northeast Asian Multilateral Cooperation Between China And ROK

Northeast Asia is one of the most promising regions in the world.In recent years,with the development of economy,the six countries of Northeast Asia have established close bilateral relations.However,the complicated regional contradictions and extraterritorial factors Of the interference led to regional multilateral cooperation far behind the rest of the world.China and South Korea are both countries in Northeast Asia and are also important participants in multilateral affairs in Northeast Asia.In the process of multilateral cooperation in Northeast Asia,both countries have actively promoted multilateral cooperation in the region,but because of the deep-seated regional contradictions,the regional cooperation between the two countries is not satisfying.In the history of multilateral cooperation in Northeast Asia,it can be found that bilateral coordination between C hina and South Korea in this multilateral mechanism has played a very important role in promoting the whole multilateral cooperation wherever in the six-party talks to solve the DPRK nuclear issue and in the FTA negotiations to promote regional trade liberalization.Therefore,we can regard them as the basis to try to seek the way in which strengthen the bilateral cooperation to solve the plight of multilateral cooperation in Northeast Asia.By analyzing the feasibility of this way,we can see that the bilateral relations between C hina and the ROK have made great achievements: C hina and South Korea are important trading partners in economic aspects;and they have regular high-level communications in politic aspect;and they have close relations in cultural aspects.Not only these are the cooperation between C hina and South Korea to promote regional development of this issue laid the foundation,but also China and South Korea have a wide range of common interests on the DPRK nuclear issue,solving the regional issues such as Japan and the integration of Northeast Asia.Therefore,we can see that it is feasible that Sino-Korean cooperation promote s multilateral cooperation in Northeast Asia in the future.Although the issue is feasible,we should not ignore the obstacles that the issue may face in the future.The obstacles to this issue contains the bilateral trust between China and South Korea,the influence of factors in the field and the interference of extraterritorial factors.In the face of the problem,China and South Korea can strengthen bilateral understanding through political and cultural communications and regional recognition of the two countries to solve the above problems,as well as building the regional multilateral regimes and so on.
