Engels' Family View And Contemporary Enlightenment

Our country is in a vital transitional period of political,economic and cultural development.Profound changes have taken place in all aspects.As the basic unit of the society,family also gives rise to a lot of problems which affect the social harmony and stability.This paper,based on the achievements of others' researches,is faithful to the original work.It presents Engels' family view systematically from the perspective of historical materialism,and explores solutions to domestic problems in combination with the reality of the current situation in China.The first part of the article explores the formation of Engels' family view.On the one hand,the author analyzed the influences of the thoughts of Bachofen,Morgan,Marx and other poeple on Engels from the theoretical basis of Engels' family view.On the other hand,the author presented the formation process of Engels' family view,which is from the sprout of family view in Marx and Engels' early days to the formation of Marx and Engels' family view marked by the German Ideology and the maturity of Engels' family view,that is witnessed by Der Ursprung der Familie,des Privateigentums und des Staats.The second part,which is the main body of the paper,systematically demonstrates the content of Engels' family view.It presents the evolution process from Consanguity family,Punaluya family,Spouse family to Monogamous family,and reveals the law of family development and the essence of materialism.Two kinds of production are the basis and motivation of the development of family form;Family,which is the unity of human's natural property and social property and the unity of marital relations,blood ties and supporting relations,develops with the development of production mode.At last,the paper describes Engels' prospect on family in communist society,indicating the direction of the development of family in human's society.It makes human look forward to the harmonious marital family life.The third part analyzes current situation of the development of social family in China and reflects domestic issues mainly caused by the thought of interest being supreme on the basis of Engels' family view,putting forward solutions to the problems.The author advocates establishing correct views of love and marriage to have a family on the basis of love.Clearing moral standard can make the family be happy and the society be harmonious.
