A Study On The Problems Of New-media Applied To The Public Crisis Management

In 2003,with the large-scale outbreak of SARS,the public crisis management had entered a new historical stage of development in China.Ya'an earthquake in 2013,blast in Tianjin Binhai New Area in 2015,tornado events in Jiangsu in 2016,all of these public crisis events caused by natural and public disasters have damaged people's property and lives seriously,and disrupted the stability of social order.Because of frequent public crisis events,the public crisis management begins to come into our sights.The normalization of crisis and the diversity of causes make us take effective measures to avoid crisis.Once crises happen,we should manage it and reduce losses as soon as possible.With the maturity and popularization of network technology and digital technology,new media is widely used in all aspects of our social life.In recent years,the government also have began to use new media in public crisis management.Making full use of distinctive advantages of new media,such as information spreading,active interaction and guidance of public opinion,can improve the efficiency of public crisis management.However,in the process of using new media government has to face some new challenges brought by the features of new media,thus there have been some problems making the positive effection of new media not work.This thesis aims to establish the relationship between new-media and the public crisis management by researching the connotation and feature of them and analyzing the role played by new media in public crisis management,and find out the distinctive advantages characteristic of new-media.Then based on deep analysis of main mode of function of new media in public crisis management and the challenges brought by the new-media,some problems are be found out.After the causes of these problems being analyzed,some corresponding countermeasures are put forward to improve government's capability of using new media in public crisis management,to improve the efficiency of management and reduce the cost of management.
