The war of resistance against Japan was ended successfully after 14 years in August 15, 1945 when China was deserted and eager to found a new state peacefully. However, there were fundamental conflicts between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China (CPC) on the issue about what kind of country should be built and how to build the country. In order to achieve the proposition of establishing a coalition government which was clearly put forward in "The seventh national congress of the communist party of China", the CPC deployed multifarious contests with the Kuomintang politically and militarily, including the game on affairs of journalism and communication. This study attempts to review the period from August 15, 1945 to June 26, 1946, taking the opportunity to observe how the CPC carry out political communication activities in complicated situations, so as to construct political identity and make the situation benefit their own development. "Xinhua Daily" and "Jiefang Daily" are representative official newspapers of CPC in the Kuomintang-ruled areas and the liberated areas. The author deliberately selected these two newspapers as the research object to analyze the CPC's political communication activities from the empirical and theoretical perspectives. The paper includes two parts: introduction and text:The introduction mainly analyzes the concept of political communication and points out the shortcomings in the research of this period. In this part, the author also introduces the research methods and research theory and tries to answer the questions, including "what they said","why they said" and "how they said" in the political communication during this period The text is divided into four parts in general:The first part discusses the intricate international and domestic situations during this period, so as to provide the necessary background stage for the contest between the Kuomintang and the CPC on the public opinion career. This part is mainly reflected in the second chapter of this paper. The second part, from the perspective of empirical research, analyzes the text of "Xinhua Daily" and "Jiefang Daily" respectively to discuss the two political propaganda subjects, the content of political communication and the objects of political communication. The paper focuses on answering "what they said" and "how they said" these two questions and analyzes what their communication strategies and tactics are in terms of legitimacy. This part is mainly reflected in the third and fourth chapter of this paper. This part is mainly reflected in the third and fourth chapter of this paper. The third part, from the perspective of theoretical research, combines with the results of the second part to disscuss what factors make Kuomintang and the CPC's political communication different and the question "why they said". This part is mainly reflected in the fifth chapter of this paper. The fourth part expounds the conclusion of this paper and presents the experience and inspiration brought by the CPC's political comunication to cope with the increasingly complex international and domestic public opinion situation. This part is mainly reflected in the fifth chapter of this paper.Through the study of this paper, "Jiefang Daily" and "Xinhua Daily", during the period from August 15,1945 to June 26,1946 , always carry out the work of the party's news communication closely around the the three slogans-Peace, Democracy and Unity. They also adjust the political communication strategies according to the changes of situations and environments to obtain the national people's political identity and fight for political party leadership. In short, the CPC's political communication spreads its political civilization, political values and ideology through the text symbols, discourse construction, etc.Becasue of the common media systerm model,"Jiefang Daily" and "Xinhua Daily" are same in communication stragegies and style of writing due to the different circumstances there are in.This paper finds although it is in the revolutionary period, the similar "polarized pluralist"media system model established by the CPC has undergone tremendous changes with the political environment changes, the ideas, including "running newspapers by politicians ", "the unity of party spirit and affinity to the people","militant spirit " and "united front" derived from the model by the newspapers still provide the experience and revelation for the party to carry out the work of political dissemination currently.
