The British foreign policy has strong characteristics of pragmatism.Whether it put forward the“glorious isolation”policy in the history for preventing the dominance of the hegemony in the continent,or established the“intimate alliance”with the United State for its own strategic interests after the World War II,both are the represent of British pragmatic foreign policy.The Cameron administration's foreign policy towards China was formulated under the guidance of pragmatic principles.Since the Cameron-led Conservative Party and the Clegg-led Liberal Democratic Party established the Coalition in May 2010,the importance of Sino-UK relations were gradually increased.Therefore,more and more scholars dedicated to the study of bilateral relations and the analysis of British foreign policy towards China.Thus,this thesis attempts to implement a systematic and profound study of the main contents?reasons and implications of Cameron govement's policy towards China.In addition,to explore the essence of Cameron administration's foreign policy towards China.Study on the backgrounds,contents and implications of British economic and political policy on China under Cameron administration is beneficial to comprehensively understanding and grasping the essence of British foreign policy on China during this period.What's more,it is helpful to providing reference for the decision makers to promote the healthy and stable development of Sino-UK relations.The first chapter studies the reasons and backgrounds of Cameron administration's foreign policy on China from three aspects:the background of the international financial crisis,the domestic situation in the UK and the rise of China.The second chapter mainly analyzes the contents-of Cameron administration's economic and political policy towards China.Moreover,based on analysis of reasons and contents of Cameron's foreign policy on China,the third chapter explores the influence of the policy.The last part is the conclusion.In summary,based on the previous discussion,the emphasis of Cameron govermment's pragmatic foreign policy towards China is to maximize British economic interests.In addition,Cameron's friendly political policy towards China is for economic gain as well.
