Chinese People's Liberation Army is an army created and led by the Communist Party of China,an army of the People,and an army of important armed force to ensure that the Chinese people are the masters of their own country.Ideological and political education is the unique political advantage of the People's Liberation Army.It exists ever since the Army was created by the Communist Party of China.Ideological and political education plays a fundamental and foundational role to the troops—it enhances the cohesion and battle effectiveness of the troops on one hand and guarantees the exclusive and absolute leadership of the Party to the troops on the other hand.It brings a comprehensivemilitary construction and scientific developments to the People's Liberation Army,ensures the Army always an armed strength for the proletariat under the absolute leadership of the Communist Party of China,and guarantees the accomplishments of various tasks by the Army during the periods of revolution,construction and reform.Guiding principles for military political work with Chinese characteristics has been formed,and the ideological and political education itself has evolved into a rigorous scientific system.Primary troops constitute the major part of the army and are at the forefront of the military construction.Ideological and political education to the primary troops is a significant component of the army's ideological and political work.It has a direct and strong influence on the construction of the troops.Therefore,ideological and political education to the primary troops is the root of the construction of the people's army.Economic globalization,political multi-polarization and cultural diversification,against an international situation where Chinese and western ideologies collide and clarify with each other,unfold a very complicated international environment in front of the Chinese army;Meanwhile,China is going trough a period of social transition and the most arduous and uncharted period of reform.Hence it is necessary to conduct targeted ideological and political education towards young soldiers from the primary troops in this particular historical period.At present,soldiers born after 1990s have gradually become the main force of national defense and military construction and this generation have their own virtues and problems.The author of this dissertation discusses the countermeasures to solve the problems in the ideological and political education towards the primary troops in order to enhance the ideological and political competence of the soldiers and increase the timeliness of military education so that the soldiers can keep their mind on serving in the army,take root in the barracks,accomplish their mission in a better way,and make their due contributions to the national defense and the military construction.The body of the dissertation consists of four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction that introduces the status quo of domestic research,the purpose and the significance of the research,and what we can learn from the experience of foreign military ideological and political education.It briefly explains the approach and method of the research as well as the challenges and innovation of the research.The second chapter elaborates the necessity of improving and enhancing the ideological and political education towards the current primary troops.Firstly,the chapter defines the basic concepts in the research and expounds the content,basic forms,major methods,features and fundamental principles of ideological and political education.Secondly,given the new domestic and global situation,the change in the main composition of the troops and the different behavioral pattern of a young generation of soldiers,the chapter discusses the necessity of improving and enhancing the ideological and political education to primary troops from the following three aspects—the need to raise the pertinence of ideological and political education for the primary troops;the need to manage the timeliness of the ideological and political education for the primary troops;and the need to inherit the core and essence of ideological and political education for the primary troops.The third chapter explores the problems and root causes in the ideological and political education towards the primary troops.The author discusses the problems and the root causes respectively.First,the author makes a systematic examination on the phenomena existing in the current ideological and political education and categorizes them into problems arising out of the educator,out of the educational content,and out of the educational mode during the process of the ideological and political education.Then the author makes a thorough analysis on the problems and finds out the root causes that influence education effect to the primary troops.After a systematic research,the author sums up the root causes as the changes of the composition of the soldiers,the wide application of Internet technique and the impact of the traditional culture.This chapter serves as the basis of argumentation of the dissertation.The forth chapter provides the countermeasures to strengthen and improve the ideological and political education towards the primary troops.The author elaborates the countermeasures to the problems in the ideological and political education in four aspects.First of all,emphasize theoretical innovation and optimize educational content.Theoretical and content innovation of the education is the foundation of educational activity innovation.To promote theoretical and content innovation,the countermeasures range from adhering to arm the soldiers with advanced theoretical achievements,cultivating core values among contemporary soldiers,increasing the knowledgeability of the educational content,attaching great importance to the study and application of psychological knowledge,enhancing soldiers' awareness of the importance of rule of law.Secondly,update educational concept and achieve transformation in educational mode.During the education process,a good educational mode has a direct impact on the effectiveness of the education.The author proposes the implementation of the concept of Putting People First,the comprehensive utilization of diverse education methods,the expansion of education dissemination channels so as to realize the transformation of ideological and political education modes.Thirdly,strengthen the building of political work team.Educators comprehensive quality determines the effect of ideological and political education in a direct way.Ideology and politics educators should improve their theoretical attainments,renew their knowledge structure consciously,strengthen their moral cultivation,enhance their service consciousness,and establish a good image.Last but not least,optimize the education environment for the primary troops on the studying of ideology and politics.The application of implicit education is the indispensable means of education activities.Improvement of the camp culture environment by creating a harmonious camp environment will further build a good environment for ideological and political education.
