The pursuit of liberty throughout the process of the development of human society is always the eternal theme. The liberty of human beings is the highest value demand of Marxism. One of the major breakthroughs of Marxism is that Marx realizes the innovative change on the thesis of liberty, which means that he provides a scientific path to the liberty of human beings. Therefore,it is of great theoretical significance and practical value to study Marx's theory of liberty through the interpretation of texts.Marx's theory of liberty possesses the characteristic of duality. On the one hand, the logical interpretation of Marx's theory of liberty is dual.Marx does research in two dimensions: the dimension of value and the dimension of reality. He does not only preset ideal state of liberty in the value dimension, but also examines the actual conditions of liberty in the real dimension. These two dimensions interact with each other, and jointly promote the development of Marx's thought of liberty. On the other hand,in the perspective of Marx's philosophy, the connotation of liberty is of duality.Marx studies the connotation of liberty in two dimensions, highlighting the dual meanings of the concept of liberty.Firstly, the absolute liberty, existing as the ultimate value target,is abstract and ideal in nature. It is closer to the concept of liberty itself, which beckons human history to unfold.Secondly, the relative liberty,in a particular historical time and space,is concrete, real and procedural in nature. It is a collection of specific forms of liberty, each of which has some relative certainty. The two liberty link with each other----the absolute liberty guides the relative liberty in terms of value;the relative liberty gradually approaches the absolute liberty, and confirms the existence of the absolute liberty. This study reveals that Marxism is a living truth, which makes Marx's theory of liberty become three-dimensional,and that Marxism provides a solid theoretical support for people to enhance the confidence of Marxist theory.
