A Study Of Burglary And Prevention Strategies Base On Crime Hot Spot Analysis

With the development of technology of GIS,quantities of scholars from criminology have payed highly attention on the spatial distribution of crime activities nowadays.With the assistant of function module from Arc GIS,such as visualization,spatial statistics and spatial analysis,researchers could not only make quantitative analysis of the distribution of crime accurately,but also show the crime tendency of visualization through the computer simulation.At present,the studies of spatial distribution on crime activities have become further exploration and mature in combination with geographical information technology,as well as these analyses have explained the space clustering phenomenon and relevant patterns of crime activity based on the routine activity theory,rational choice theory and crime pattern theory.This study has explored and tested the activities of burglary distributing on the area of Xihu distict,Hangzhou,where the crime hot spot of burglary is significant.Based on this outcome,this study explores the characteristics of hot spots combined with the hot spots matrix.Crime hot spot analysis interprets the theories of environmental criminology from the perspective of spatial statistics.Whereas recent studies have not explored the cause of crime cluster in-depth in our country.In other words,most of studies in this area just focus on the analysis of spatial elements but lack the integration analysis of social background,spatial environments and crime opportunity.Hence,This study aims to build a more comprehensive analysis model based on the traditional crime situation analysis combined with social factors and space factors so that can integrated to the causes of crime hotspots and propose more comprehensive local crime prevention strategies.At the same time,the current crime hotspots studies abroad have developed a number of urban policing patterns,such as intelligence-based policing,problem oriented policing,hot spot policing,predictive policing consists of the system or model of urban crime prevention.But the studies of crime hot spots in China starts lately,that is still at groping stage.So,considering the current stage of reforming traditional policing in our country,it is necessary to do some related empirical studies with reference to foreign experiences and lessons,for experience accumulation of the localization crime prevention model and the formation of policing innovation.
